17 February 2020: Community Alliance notes with interest the appointment of Vicky Ford MP as the new Children and Families Minister (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Education). We welcome her to the role and would like to invite her to meet with us at her earliest opportunity.
It's vital that she hears from families directly what their experience has been like since the SEND reforms in 2014. She has a lot of evidence to read but it is imperative she hears it face-to-face. Just hearing from the officials, politicians, or those who are paid by the Government and so must temper their criticism, is not sufficient and is not acceptable.

SEND Community Alliance represents thousands of otherwise unheard parents. We respectfully ask that you meet with our representatives before the Easter holidays to help you understand what our families are going through every day. We would welcome the chance to discuss our manifesto to #fixSEND with you
We wish every success to Vicky Ford in her new role and look forward to meeting her in the coming months.
